June Teacher of the Month - Ms. Pat

We're so excited to start our Teacher of the Month feature! Every month, we'll highlight a different teacher here at the center. Our teachers have a variety of backgrounds and specialties, but they all share a passion for helping students learn.

This month, we are proud to feature Ms. Pat. She has been with us at Huntington since 2002, and is an amazing teacher. We asked her a few questions about her life outside of teaching.

How long have you been a teacher?
I've been teaching at Huntington for over 10 years, and I taught high school for several years before moving to Austin.

What are your favorite subjects?
Reading and math.

What drew you to teaching at Huntington?
I enjoy helping students and seeing them learn!

When you are not teaching, what do you enjoy doing?
I enjoy spending time with my grand kids, traveling, and tubing on the Comal River.

Tell us three random facts about you!
1) I have 10 grandchildren.
2) We once owned a pet and grooming store in Austin.
3) I teach a couples bible study on Sundays.

How is teaching at Huntington different from teaching in a school?
We don't have to make lesson plans or deal with classroom disruptions.

Thank you for all of the work you do Ms. Pat! We are so lucky to have you here at Huntington.

Check back next month for the July Teacher of the Month!
